Our Approach to Learning and Long-Term Development
We believe lasting learning happens when new knowledge is immediately applied in everyday work. That’s why our approach to development is built on four core principles, which we embed in all our programs at every level:
- Knowledge – the facts, frameworks, and methods you need to know.
- Skills – the ability to put knowledge into practice and perform effectively.
- Motivation – your attitude and commitment to a task: the will to act.
- Self-awareness – how an individual understands their character, motivations, emotions, and needs. Self-awareness influences all the other factors and develops as you mature and grow as a person.
We build on the 70–20–10 principle for individual development. It suggests that around 10% of our development comes from formal training, 20% from reflection together with a manager, mentor, or coach, and that as much as 70% happens when we apply our knowledge in everyday work. That’s why we invite and involve our participants’ managers throughout the entire learning process, to support long-term and sustainable learning.
Our process for long-term learning and personal development
As part of our overall process, we invite participants’ managers to an optional, short introduction at the start of each program. This session provides an overview of the training and offers practical tips on how to get involved and support their employee, including the ten most important coaching questions to use in ongoing dialogue.
- Participant introduction – digital format
- Trainings in classroom
- Follow-up – digital format
- Manager introduction – digital format
- Ongoing follow-up and dialogue between the participant and their manager
Once again, perhaps the most important part of learning is having the courage to pause and reflect on what you’ve learned and on the experiences that arise when you try to apply it in everyday life.
“An event without reflection remains just an event. An event with reflection becomes experience. Experience with reflection becomes insight – and insight is learning.”
Our open courses
The programs focus on developing leadership skills for both new and experienced managers, as well as for those who lead without a formal title, through practical tools, increased self-awareness, and shared learning from experience.
We also offer swedish-speaking courses, do our trainings in swedish.
